Glass Master Paul J Nelson gave an Artist's Talk at Florida Craft Art Gallery on Thursday, April 18. Nelson's show "Repurposing Mythology" opened on April 13 at The Duncan McClellan Gallery 2342 Emerson Ave S., St. Pete 33712, in the Warehouse Arts District. Nelson uses blown and hot sculpting techniques to make unique glass forms inspired by nature, antique and bizarre tools and everyday objects. His work, featured in galleries and exhibitions throughout the U.S., focuses on portraiture, narrative and a re-contextualization of the sculpted subject. His work can also be seen in Quest: A Celebration of Glass at Florida Craft Art, which holds its Closing Reception with People's Choice Awards on Saturday, April 20 ABOVE: "Beethoven" by Paul J Nelson.
